I talked with a Garmin rep about database updates a few months after
purchasing my 296. He said they were pretty liberal about honoring the
coupons and suggested I wait until about 6 months after purchasing the GPS
to use the coupon. I did and there was no problem.

used within 90 days of purchase date (which I will assume will be the
