Default Camera mount for Diamond DA-40?

With video, you don't. You set the recorder going before takeoff and
hope you have enough tape in the recorder to last the duration.

Of course you should talk to your local aviation authorities before
doing it. Perish the thought of just going out and doing it! However, if
it stays on a motorcycle sidecar outfit during a 55 minute road race, it
will stay on a light plane.

If it's a still camera, then there's an issue of control. The
agricultural way we did it once was to make a camera box which contained
not only the camera, but a servo and receiver for a radio controlled
plane. The aircraft's occupants could press a button on the transmitter,
and the servo would press the button on the camera.
