Is flying an exact science?
Would it be better if we use correct terminology?

L/D is L/D.
L/D is Lift to Drag Ratio.
L/D is not effected by Wind.
Glider + effect of Wind = RANGE
L/D is a number without Wind.
Wind changes L/D into RANGE.
L/D+Wind effect is not different L/D, or best L/D, but becomes "RANGE".
