I found a web site where they are raffling off a Cirrus SR-20G2 in
August. Tickets cost $100, are most likely tax deductible. Proceeds
benefit Police Survivors.

There is mention of the Cirrus raffle on their national web site:
http://www.nationalcops.org/SpecialThings.htm
Cirrus Raffle
Mike Lesniowski, a ten-year veteran of the Maryland State Police,
is organizing a national raffle to benefit COPS. The winner of
the raffle will win a 2006 Cirrus SR-20G2 airplane valued at over
$300,000.00. For more information, to read the raffle rules, or
to purchase a ticket, visit the raffle website at
www.cops-cirrus.com
. Contact Mike via email at
.
(MICHAEL ANTHONY LESNIOWSKI is listed in the FAA Registry as a Private
Pilot with a 3rd class medical certificate dated March 2001.)
The FAQ http://cops-cirrus.easystorecreator.com/FAQ.asp indicates
that 3,500 tickets need to be sold before August 31,2006. That night
a ticket number will be picked. If it fails to match one of the 3,500
(of 9,999) numbered tickets, they will draw another number each month
thereafter until a winning number is picked.
The question I would have, is how do you know the drawing is
legitimate? Given the police corruption routinely exposed in the news
media, I'd want an independent organization to conduct the drawings.
