5/16"dia bolts try 5 - 8 lb ft
3/8"dia bolts try 10 - 13 lb ft
1/2"dia bolts try 18 - 25 lb ft.

yes we use belleville washers.


Belleville springs. This was a nit with an old engineer with whom I
worked and upon reflection, I agree with him.

Of course a bolt is also a spring, but no one ever talks about
hex-head springs....
