Exactly what is the role of the second mini-battery on the DA-20-C1?
Was the -C1 ever IFR certified? The Diamond DA-40 had all electric
instruments and there is a battery backup (made up of primary cells -
e.g. a pile of Duracells) that could keep all the electric gyros running
for some time after a complete electrical system failure. It powers the
gyros via a separate bus, and is enabled by a guarded switch.
If this is an add-on for the DA-20, there should be something in the
real POH (i.e. the one in the plane).
