registering a sailplane in UT
I have purchased a DG303 ACRO here in UT. First thanks to all for the
feedback on this plane.
I am trying to ensure I cover all bases regarding registration with the
goverment agencies. Any input from UT, and other states, pilots would
be appreciated.
1) I have the Bill of Sales form, 8051, from the FAA and will submit
that.
2) State sales tax. I understand the filing of the bill of sales will
trigger sales tac from UT. It is not clear when this will occur and
what 'sales value' will be used since the FAA bill of sales has no $$
amount. What should I expect?
3) I understand the state of UT requires a yearly registration that
includes a fee for a sticker. Any ideas on where I can find the
guidelines for the fees? The state web site references an aviation
blue book but it costs money to access the data.
4) Trailer registration. I have not registered the trailer as I
understand that any trailer rated for less than 2000 lbs do not require
registration. Is this correct? If I take the trailer out of state
will there be a problem?
5) I have heard that the state of TX has no sales tax on airplanes
and I curious if anyone who registered their plane in TX without being
a resident of that state.
6) Does TX require a yearly registration?
Thanks in advance
