He was rated in the single seat F 102 Delta fighter and flew
combat air patrol/intercept over the Gulf of Mexico. That
was when the Russians were flying Bear bombers down the east
coast to Cuba and then over the Gulf. Her did not have
enough flight time to go to Viet Ban, although he and some
of his buds did volunteer. The F102 was not used much in VN
because air-to air intercept was not a problem, ground
attack fighters were used more in VN.
He had to be a pretty good stick in order to fly those early
Century Series fighters.

| ================================
|
| This page is random and kind of off topic but if I recall
correctly W
| was a pilot of some sort flying like 30 years ago. It
appears that he
| took his flying lessons in Cessna T-41A and the Jet
Trainer Aircraft
| Northrop T-38.
|
| I am not sure what happened in the meantime, but it looks
to me that he
| might need some flight lessons here.
|
| So, all you need to do is to click your mouse on W's body
and move the
| mouse in any direction. Go ahead, do not hesitate to teach
him to fly.
|
|
|
| If you find this page fun, and please don't forget to
forward this
| flying exercise to anyone who might enjoy it.
