The problem also affects the GPS altitude, which remains constant for
several minutes at time. Since it only occurs during circling, I suggest
it's an antenna problem. Have you moved it recently, or mounted
something near it? Are you carrying another GPS with the antenna near
the logger's antenna?
Another possibility might be GPS receiver (or antenna, if it's an active
one) getting weak so it loses the signal easily, which circling would
exacerbate.
