I have seen at least one in the ear "head set". I was wondering if
any one has tried them with a cheap passive hearing protector like
the ones used for shooting and things like that. The reason I ask is
I know some shooters prefer, plugs and some prefer headsets, and some
like to use both. Well I tried both the other day, not while
shooting, and with just the ear plugs or just the headset, you can
still hear things ok. But with both I could barely hear anything. Seems
like that might be the ultimate solution for flying. While gun
fire is pretty loud, given the *continuous* drone of an airplane
engine, the engine noise is probably much worse.
I haven't tried the in-ear sets, but I'm content with my ANR set which seems
to do a very adequate job of reducing engine noise to a comfortable level.
