Flight Plans tend to be available almost immediately after filing. I
suppose this depends on where you are, but that's been my experience
around New York.


If you're going to be delayed, just call up clearance delivery and ask
the controller to modify the P-time to be whenever you think you'll be
ready to leave. That'll make sure it doesn't time out and disappear.
