Region 3 Contest at new airport?
Stewart,
You are right! Definitely the first time in Soaring history that a
soaring competition is kicked out of an airfield.... We did fly day #2
for the Standard and 15 Meter Class at Saratoga County Airport, home of
Adirondack Soaring Club. For those of you that attended the contest, I
can't tell you how relaxed I was to be at Saratoga and being able to
drive where I want and go where I wanted. At Glens Falls, Udo Rumpf,
ET, made a comment to a reporter that said, " ...Warren County
treated us little kids.. they kept is off the ramp and made us cross
the ramp through little cones... they are ridiculous... More will come
on this story and it will be written up for SOARING Magazine. We did
manage to get two days in and we have a Region 3 Champ for the 15 Meter
and Standard Class. The US Region 3 Champion for Standard Class is Andy
Gough flying in LS-8 and for the 15M Class is Tom Peterson flying a
Ventus 2B. More to come and Adirondack Soaring through the help of
attorney's that where there and saw the so called incident is looking
to pursue legal action against Warren County for being thrown off a
public airport.

I read a mention from a Tom Knauff newsletter, and
the saw a description on the SSA racing tab. Sounds
like a first, a contest getting booted.
