I often ask but rarely get them. Usually you get something like "just
take alpha to bravo". I could have gotten that from the taxi clearance.
I was expecting something like, "continue taxing until you pass the
citation, then turn right...".

I can't remember if it was SDF or LEX, but I got so hopelessly turned
around one night (was raining and dark and foggy) that I'm surprised I'm
not still driving around. Asked for progressive, and got exactly what
you described....so I kept hounding ground until I got what I was
looking for. Only time I've ever requested it, but I'm glad I did.

(the really funny thing was, it wasn't the first time I'd been to
whatever airport I was at and I had the diagram in my lap...it was just
one of those days)
