Does anyone know where to find parts for the tierra 285 engines?
Do you mean "Tiara"? Do you own one of these?
yes sorry, "tiara" and no, but i am assisting someone who has a
comp-air kit plane that has a 285 tiara that dosnt run, we are
about to begin work on it and in the past found that parts are
almost non-existant. I am just looking for a source for parts if
available, if not we may convert it over to another engine, but i
would like to find parts if they are available to atleast get it
running and sellable, it was a float plane until the floats ran
away one night, so now its not much fun anymore anyway:/
That must be the airplane that sat for a long time at the Vintage
Flying Museum in Fort Worth. If that's the one, I would suggest you
forget about getting that airplane running with that engine and
convert it to a different one. Almost everyone that saw that airplane
and knew anything about that engine thought the same thing.
Juan
Well the floats did set behind the museum but the plane was hangered
in the T-hangers on the field, Its a comp-air if you know the plane.
Yes, it was taken out of the museum, but it sat there for quite some
time. It's the same Comp-Air.
