Average changes of even a fraction of a degree worldwide can mean much
larger changes over small areas and over small periods of time. In
general, the more energy (heat) added to the atmosphere, the more
active it becomes, and the greater the extremes that it manifests.

In Paris, for example, the weather has warmed by several degrees in
recent years.
