Eh, the CFI certificate is good for only two years anyway, so pretty much all
the active CFIs have plastic certificates anyway. And I had to replace the
pilot certificate when I got my pocket picked in the Philippines.


When you renew your CFI certificate if you don't already have a new
pilot's certificate one is automatically sent. The new certificates
don't include SSN so it wouldn't make much sense to send a new CFI
ticket with a new number but still says "valid only with pilot
certificate XXX-XX-XXX"
