Reading between the lines, I'm guessing the OP definitely got some
subconcious enjoyment from flying with her father and I'm guessing further
that since she now has a son taking flying lessons, the interest is
rekindled and she has established a pragmatic excuse to get into a small
plane again.

I at least see nothing fishy.
