Transfer of IGC log for contest scoring
I agree with the SD (or CF) card approach. Cambridge makes a small
piece of software for the iPAQ that makes copying the flight log to
the card very simple. Then hand the card to the scorer. Make sure to
write your name, tail number, contest number on the card. Also make
sure that you configure the Cambridge (with the same piece of
software) with your name, glider info, etc. The software also
confirms the validity of the FAI log file after the download.
I wouldn't worry to much about having the day's log file being the
only one on the card. The naming convention for the log file contains
the date and the recorder manufacturer and serial number.
Finally, Glide Navigator II (for one) seamless handles the task of
copying the log file from the 302 to the card. When you quit GNII
after landing, it automatically asks you if you want to copy the
file. Cool! Thanks to Chip.
Enjoy, John
