Default CFI Gift

I had many people at the flight school give me service over and above.
CFI
Other CFI's who answered my quetions without promise of reward,
Receptionists who looked after me and even reminded me to get my booking
in because it was a good weather forecast for the weekend,
Fuellers who gave me priority because they knew that I only had
posession of the plane for a limited time,
Maintenance staff who fixed squawks for mw right away,

So when I passed, I had lunch catered to all of the staff.
It was appreciated, and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

I'm sure this has come up before, but let me ask again.

I should get my PPL within a week or 2 depending on weather and schedules
and maybe some luck.

Is a gift to the CFI appropriate/traditional/required/expected?

Thanks.
