Depends. Talking to a guy who works with my wife: Said he was heading
south on one of the East Bay freeways that afternoon and there was
this dark line moving up the road toward him. Turns out that was the
crrest of the first wave and it gave him a little toss. then there
was another line.

They don't do much damage until there's something resonant they can
shake. I had to explain to a guy once why he didn't really want a
brick house in California.

But.

I'm just back from motorcycling with a friend through the Sierras to
the high desert and back. (For Jim: 88 to Markleeville then 89 over
Monitor Pass to 395. RON in Bridgeport and back on 120 through
Yosemite.) I wouldn't live anyplace else but here.
