The "New" Bendix/King

Here's my prediction -- background first:

"He (the president of AlliedSignal) called me and he said, 'How would you
like to be part of AlliedSignal?' And I said, 'Sounds interesting. What's
in it for me?' He said, 'Well, we've got 300 engineers, we've got 25
attorneys, we have ten R & D aircraft, we've got world wide sales
distribution support, marketing, etc., etc.' I said, 'Well, if you have
all that, why don't you just make one of these things yourself?' He said,
'Well, because we've got 300 engineers, 25 attorneys, ten R & D aircraft,
world wide sales marketing distribution support, and it's just too
complicated to start something from scratch like this and actually get it
through the cogs of the organization.' Prediction:
Honeywell Bendix/King is now even more too big to do anything. It'll be
some other engineers (like Gary Burrell and Min Kao) who leave and start a
new company.
Now THAT's interesting. As I mentioned in my original post, I had a feeling
that some big changes need to happen to get a new product line going. It
looks like buying up smaller companies with promising technologies and
perfecting them with experienced engineers is the only viable for Bendix
King to get back in the game.
Will be interesting to watch.
