safty finish at the 2007Sp.Nat's?
It seem that the safety finish was rejected based on the revised
score sheet. What are the details?

My mistake. Its the 20:1 requirement that is being revisited.
Actually the glide slope is not 20:1 it is 26.4:1. (200 ft per mile)
What happened on Day 6 of the Sports Nationals was that the version of
Winscore used at the contest did not automatically support the safety
finish rule. The scorer had to perform some manual steps to generate
scores and during that process some altitudes were misinterpreted and
finishes were incorrectly given to 3 contestants on the preliminary
scoresheet.
The logs were then more carefully reevaluated by the scorer and also
by an updated version of Winscore. Both evaluations showed that 3
contestants, while within the 5 mile horizontal bounds of the safety
cylinder, were below the required glide slope. The times and
distances of the remaining contestants who received safety finishes
will be rescored after a clarification of the safety finish rules.
