Default A Red-Letter Day in Iowa

They didn't cut his shirt? I got the back cut out of mine, and we
went to the restaurant that way, to celebrate with oysters.

I've put the shirt back together, but I made sure the cut-out shows.

Well, they don't exactly give you a shirt. As with mine (and my
wife's), you provide the shirt, and the CFI draws/writes the date,
location, and anything else they might want to add (wind?) on the
shirt.

My CFI drew a guy (God? Zeus?) blowing wind down on my little
airplane, cuz I soloed on a fairly windy day, along with the N number,
airport, and date. Mary's is "just the facts", while Joe's has a few
artistic elements.

Depends on the CFI, I suppose.

In East Troy, where I learned to fly, your shirt went up on the FBO
wall, and you didn't get it back until you got your ticket. This was
a good incentive to finish! They don't do that here in Iowa City --
you just take your shirt with you.
