Looking at the issue before, Urs Bloch from Switzerland
was going to fly an Elfe or a Ka-10. He flew a Ka-10,
so I would guess that there wasn't another Swiss Standard
class plane available for the Swiss pilot.

And looking at the issue after, there is mention of
the Elfe having 'a very thin wing with sections designed
by Pfenninger (13.3% thick at the root, 10.5% at the
tip)...' I think that author may have been thinking
of the MN-R as this is pulled from its description
in the issue of Jane's.

But, sorry. No photos of the Elfe in S&G.

I have a photo from an old Jane's All The Worlds Airplanes
of a fixed gear Std Elfe. Sort of looks dark in color,
but no registration is visible. I also have a picture
in my 'Gliders' file that is labeled 'Elfe S2 HB-804'.
It also has a Vee tail.

I have Elfe S2 serial 12. Formerly HB-844. Now has
a retractable gear. Three piece wing. Conventional
tail. Does yours nave a full flying horizontal, or
a fixed stablizer and elevator? Mine has the latter,
and it attaches below the rudder.

Maybe he can elaborate on the history of that glider?
