the compasses that sit out in the middle of the windscreen are lucky
to last a year without perishing I'm told.
mine at the bottom of the panel goes over 5 years before a leak.

since gps I dont think I've used mine in flight.

matte black for a reason. if it wasnt essential they'd be colour
harmonised with the paint scheme ;-)
