I'm in the market for an ANR headset, my mom said she would get it for me
since she has no idea what else to get me. I can only use so many socks
and
sweaters that I will never wear anyway. I'm looking for the noise
cancelling
stuff but I don't think she'll spring for $995.00 Bose headset! Anyone
have
a more affordable ANR headset they would recommend? I have a regular
Sigtronics right now. It works great but after buying a set of the noise
cancelling headphones before my last commercial flight I just can't
believe
the difference.
What I do when I want a high dollar gift is enlist several members of the
family to kick in for it... even as a comination birthday/Christmas gift
if need be. They kick in the cash with the understanding that their
obligation for that period of time is over... you can't look disapponted
on the annoited day.
If there still isn't enough cash, make up the difference yourself. Sell
your present headset if you can.
This can be done. I wanted an electric guitar and amplifier... been
wanting one for 30 years but couldn't justify it. I finally bought what I
wanted and had my father and aunt kick in towards it for my birthday.
Their contributions only covered half of the total cost but it made the
remaining cost OK for me to absorb. Everybody's happy... except the dog
when I play. G

I'm not dead set on the Bose or anything, if there is something in the $500
range that works great in an ANR then I would lean more towards that than a
$1000 headset. Would my mom buy the Bose, probably but I wouldn't do that to
her!
