Default WinPilot Themal marker

I am using WinPilot Advanced and wondered if it is possible to mark a thermal
waypoint on the fly. Reason I ask is that in a recent contest I flew through a
good thermal a few miles from the next turnpoint. I made the turnpoint and
thought I had flown back to where the lift was. Checking my igc file I see I
was a long way off. If I could have marked the good spot (blue thermal) before
hitting the TP I might not have ended up in a paddock.

I know about the Thermal database feature but I want something like the "Man
Overboard" feature on some Garmin type GPS units.

Peter,

The trace function in ADV will trace your track. If you have an
especially good thermal that you want to mark assign one of the front
buttons to the Mark POSition. This will put a O on your trace
track.

It will also put an O on the screen if the trace is OFF.

A button or menu item can be assigned by starting the SIM Go Menu
touch edit at the lower left, then the button below and select the
function from the drop down box. The four buttons below designate the
buttons on the front of the ipaq.

Thanks ,

Richard
