Yea, survival suit and epirb... food, lodging, airfare, ground
transportation, customs fee´s, etc. *it adds up rather quickly.-

worth it for the experience and the hours IMO. *I think one will

What's the reasoning for the second pilot to have instrument
rating? Isn't having a second pilot a bonus with or without an IR?
How's th epilot going to sleep if he knows the second guy is going to
spear in while he's napping?

I'm thinking that the weather would be fairly predictable and the
rated pilot can plan his rests along the way.
Well, I used to do that and some sectors can be pretty long. 12 hours
isn't uncommon and I've doen 17.5. 15 minutes of napping can make a big
difference!
