| No, not the gyro in front of it, the plane behind the gyro with the
| twin boon. Three brownie point to the first enthusiast able to ID
| this plane.

Confirmed! *Thanks Anyolmouse, you are definitely our winner. *Three
brownie points for you!

That's agreat picture BTW.

Thanks again,
Wil

I would rather have just one good brownieW/nuts. The key to finding the
picture was a search for Chuck Herbst after finding out he was the
designer. This produced the N# which led to the picture by Keith Sowter.
I had already emailed Keith asking if he had any additional information
on the Sparrow Hawk. I received his reply this AM:

Thanks for your Interest in my photograph

This was one of three such aircraft , Aero Dynamics Sparrow Hawk Mk.II,
that were imported into the UK in the Mid 1980's - I first saw them as a
group in a Hangar at Swanton Morley .

I believe that only one was made airworthy, N8728A, - here is a photo of
it that I took at an air show at Norwich

http://www.abpic.co.uk/photo/1082359/

The owners of the Sparrowhawk *were present when I took the picture of
the Bensen and stated that they "could'nt remember the Registration" at
that time , They stated that the other two airframes had returned to the
USA.

It was their intention to restore the aircraft to flyiong condition.

Hope this helps

Keith

The Sparrow Hawk is a project, I worked on in our shop back in 2005.
This Sparrow Hawk was bought from
a owner in the midwest, with both tail booms damaged from a hard flare
tail first landing. We installed new tail booms
and rebuilt many parts for it. I talked to the owner about it from
Iowa last night and it is going to be a project for him
when he retires.

The owner of the one in the picture is from the state of Washington.
He also said that only 3 were built.

A picture of a Vampire was in the last GA News, page 14, at the LSA
Sebring, Fla. Fly-in.

If any one wants any other information about it call or write me.
