With regards to R/C dynamic soaring, the current record is 365 mph
with 2.5 meters span. A big problem has been that commercial radar
guns won't read past 305 mph. Now they have custom guns prepared so
the record will continue to climb next winter. All the planes are
custom built for this application. Only one commercial model has
exceeded 300 mph.

My best is 178 mph in the midwest, and then the pieces start falling
off...I can't afford to go any faster! It is very addicting to extract
this kind of speed with a motorless craft.
