Dear Lou,
Roger that. Indeed, doing SOMETHING EVERY DAY is the 'secret' that no
one believes... until they try it.
No matter how finely you slice it, there is a finite number of steps
between starting and finishing. Do even ONE THING every day and the
number of steps is reduced by one. Make it a habit -- even to
carrying some parts with you if you have to travel, and working on
them during your lay-over -- and your project will progress at a
remarkable rate. (I knew an ATR who did this. It REALLY impressed
his crews. Not only was he older than god, with a career that
stretched from Stinsons to 747's, he was capable of BUILDING HIS OWN
AIRPLANE, should the need arise.)
For those familiar with the procedure One-a-Day isn't a vitamin, it's
a method of construction that GUARANTEES completion in a timely
manner.
