We have now added the Fall 2008 report by the SSA Treasurer to the
materials that are posted on the Budget and Finance Committee page of
the SSA website. To view the report (which can be accessed only by
SSA members after loggin on to the SSA website), use the menu buttons
on the left side of the webpage to go to SSAGovernanceBudget &
Finance CommitteHome and select the report from the listing.

In short, SSA's financial condition entering the 4th Quarter of 2008
is excellent, although we need to be prudent with our money and plan
for some future needs. That said, we believe that we are once again
at a point where we are able to make SSA even more beneficial to our
members by improving existing programs and adding new ones. Some of
the plans that are in the works are discussed in the Treasurer's
Report.

We have just received the draft of the auditors' opinion on our 2007
financial statements and it contains no surprises. We have made some
comments to the draft and, after the auditors digest those comments,
expect the final opinion to be issued within a few days of this
posting. We will put the full report on the website when it is
received.
