The newest AD for the Grob 103 concerns the bolt that the air brake
mixer pivots on. This is located behind the rear seat.
A new AD note has been issued for the G-103. See the AD for
applicability, it looks like it affects a lot of airframes. It is AD
2009-04-08 the Grob Tech Note is MSB 315-76/1.
The AD/SB notes requires replacement of the bolt and correct torque of
the new nut by 30 May 2009.
This does not look like a big operation and should not take more that
a hour or two.
The replacement bolt is an aircraft grade one, LN 9037-M6X60. That is
a rather long 6mm diameter bolt.
I'll be ordering new bolts and nuts in the next few days. If you want
to buy this bolt and nut through me please send me a e-mail, (I do not
know of a US based source of this bolt). I need a reasonable count of
how many to order. Sorry I do not know how much these are going to
cost but the more that are sent in a shipment the cheaper they
become.
