Default Charlie Spratt

A very dear friend of mine was in the hospital (Carolinas Medical
Center) yesterday on the renal floor. She crews for her husband who
flies with Bermuda High. She and her husband visited Charlie Spratt
yesterday and he e mailed me his impression last evening. He asked
that I send it on to all who may know Charlie.

“Charlie Spratt has now been in the hospital for over five weeks. He
is not eating, but is being fed through a tube. His new kidney is
working a little, but he still needs dialysis every other day. He has
few visitors and is very weak. He is fighting valiantly to keep his
new kidney until such time as it begins to work, which his doctors say
is still quite possible. He has a great deal of pain from time to
time due to some standard mishaps with post-transplant patients. His
spirits range from quite good to fill-in-the-blank.

He needs to get up and walk around and that is not happening.

Anyone in the soaring community who has ever benefited from an
encounter with Charlie (and who hasn’t?) of a day, a week, or a
contest, or an encouragement, or a story…whatever, should get in the
car and visit Charlie just as soon and as often as possible. He is at
CMC in Charlotte, located at 1001 Blythe Boulevard on the 10th floor
in room 10132.”
End quote.

I will add that the hospital can be a very depressing place. If you
can find the time to stop by the drug store, grocery store or dollar
store and pick up a card, I’ll add the addresses below to send it. I’m
sure any encouragement will be appreciated.
