I'm, running See You Mobile on the HP310 as a backup NAV system, and I
really like it except for the failure to get a contest start in 6 out

getting it give you a contest start??

Select the start and then Go TO
A warning will sound and a womans voice will say "Task Started" when

Just to be clear, setting a Goto waypoint has nothing to do with
SeeYou Mobile calling a start or not. It won't hurt but it is not
required and won't be causing the problem the original poster
reported.
Another option to get that first destination Goto is to just Load the
Task and then once you start just press the Start button (the black
one where the Start time is displayed). That gets rid of the Start
button and automatically sets the Goto destination as the first
turnpoint in the task. One less thing to do and some people might
like having the start waypoint or home airport set as the Goto
location before the start. There is nothing wrong with manually
setting the Goto, and I'm sure a lot of pilots do this, but it is not
required for SeeYou Mobile to do a Start.
If you do press the Start button, be aware what this means. SeeYou
Mobile thinks you have really started and won't display another Start
time. I think many people get themselves confused on this an press the
Start button when it is displaying "--:--:--" (it's always sitting
over something useful right!) and then they won't see it again -
SeeYou Mobile took that as a you really wanted to start then and
there. You can note your proper start time and adjust it in
Mc&AltSoaring Time. The only way of telling SeeYou Mobile you messed
up and want it to do the auto start time thing is to restart it. There
may be an easier way, but reloading a task does not do it.
