Nice to get a friendly wave there. Would that white object inside be some
sort of ferry tank? Is there a panel missing from the nose for some
reason?
Just wondering.

Lovely to see a B-17 and a B-24 as well.

I'm not certain, but the object in the cabin ~might~ just be the table
they brought to put their literature and people at for the day. They
were only about 250 or so miles from their home base.

Though it could be something "interesting" as well - Evergreen is into
all sorts of fun projects, not the least of which are their 747
waterbomber and the Boeing 'Dreamlifter' conversions.

The "missing panel" on the nose is a window so the pihot can see down
to whatever he's about to trip over. It is standard on all Huey
models. There does appear to be an interesting wart at the very
front, however.

Thanks for the thoughts and explanations, a 747 waterbomber sounds like
something incredible that I'd love to see in use, but I wouldn't want to be
too
close:-)

It's pretty impressive...

20,000 gallons of retardant - the only place I know where retardation
is that highly concentrated is the US Congress!
