I was just looking at Chanute's Museum web site an notice most of the
aircraft
I remember seeing in 1974 are gone. Where did they go? Who got the B-29 for
instance?
I was there attending Maintenance Officer school in 1977. The B-29, F-84F,
S-16 and B-36 were there but even then they were sawing up planes on the
flightline with chainsawa and the like. Sadly watched them cut up an RF-105,
apparently a prototype..
It is the way all planes end up. Shed a tear and never forget.
