Default SPOT Question

No. It is only equipped with a GPS receiver. All communications from
Spot is unidirectional. Basically, the transmissions are sent in the
blind.

Someone asked me a question about my SPOT that I couldn't answer, and
it's a darn good question. *I searched the findmespot FAQ's and this

If your SPOT tracker is turned on in stand-by (ie. not tracking mode),
can the device be actively pinged for its location? *The scenario
would be that you are MIA but didn't activate the Help or Emergency
buttons. *Can you be found it the device is simply turned on? *This
assumes of course that you have a clear shot to the satellite.

Thanks for any input.
