Posting here got my current glider delivered 1200 miles for a fair
price.
On a previous 1800 mile glider delivery I tried uship.com, which
will work great if you're flexible on timing. It works like ebay where
you set your price limits and the haulers bid on your load. Bids start
high, but like ebay, get more realistic as the bidding time nears it's
end. I calculated my cost to go get the glider myself, then set my bid
limits considering my cost and my time. I received offers in the $600
range after waiting for the bids to drop. Truckers pick up timing is
usually a short window. Hobbyist and collectors are very flexible. My
guy was into pickup truck campers, he was delivering one from close to
my home to well past where the glider was, and wanted $ to help pay
the trip home.
