Last Sept... it's an annual event called the Dust Devil Dash out of

...but in a 'normal' contest I have no idea.

and in the same spirit, we always fly free distance on the first
saturday after the first full moon after the summer solstice here in
Kansas. *The Kansas Kowbell Klassic. *no relation to that other KKK....


I really think it was about 1972, in Marfa, Texas, Ray Gimmey won that
day at about 422 miles in his Libelle. About that time we began the
1970's gas crisis and free distance was no longer called.
