You forgot to mention the Piper Cubs!
However, for me the highlight was the WWII aircraft, a wonderful (and
not entirely predictable) collection. (Hurricane, no Spit.
Thunderbolt, no wartime Mustang. George, no Zero. Etc.) Took me two
hours to get down to the lunch counter.
I came from a long distance and worked the numbers many ways
(airfares, hotels, local transportation). In the end I flew to BWI,
stayed in DC Friday and Saturday nights, and took the shuttle bus out
to Udvar-Hazy on Saturday. It's $7 round-trip. Friday afternoon I
visited NASM downtown; Sunday morning I hiked to the Korean and
Vietnam war memorials. A wonderful trip.
I'll post an account on the website Feb 1.
all the best -- Dan Ford
