This forum, rec.aviation.soaring, is a newsgroup operates in an
unmoderated, uncensored corner of the Internet known as UseNet. Google
offers a free service for viewing r.a.s. and posting to it, but they
do not screen it or filter it or otherwise moderate its content. If
you would like to do that, you are welcome to install and use a UseNet
reader and configure it to filter out posts by nutcases or whoever.
Then you don't need Google groups.
