Do not forget to update the W&B.

Well that's an interesting observation. Do you update your basic
weight and balance data when you load water? Is your weight and
balance then invalid when you dump before landing?

My official weight and balance data does not include the batteries
since they are not required equipment. I consider batteries to be
optional/variable as are pilot mass and arm, water ballast mass and
arm, drinking water, and trim disks. All these are calculated on
page 2 of my W/B spreadsheet and do not appear in the weight and
balance data that was submitted for airworthiness inspection and
carried in the cockpit.

Page 2 of my weight and balance spread sheets allows selection of 1,
or 2, or zero batteries. If I change the battery type and mass I
would update the protected battery mass data on that sheet, but no FAA
inspected data would change.

I understand the situation may be different in countries ruled by
EASA.
