Default What happened to gliding at Great Barrington, MA?

That was a location for Nutmeg Soaring for a period of time.

I got my Gold altitude there June 1, 1985 flying the club ASW-15. Mike
Opitz was with me flying his DG-300. We got trapped under an overcast,
ridge soaring upwind of the field. Eventually we got high enough to
make a downwind run and caught a thermal to cloudbase. Once there we
moved out to the upwind side of the cu and ridge soared up the face of
the cloud to 12,500 feet. Memorable flight.
