January, 2012 SSF FIRC in the Washington, DC area
The Soaring Safety Foundation will present a Flight Instructor's
Revalidation Clinic in the Washington D.C. area on January 21 and 22,
2012. The clinic will be presented by Rich Carlson of the SSF and
other speakers. The clinic will cost $150 which goes to the SSF to
support future clinics and other SSF activities.
The clinic will run from about 8 AM – 5:30 PM on Saturday, Jan 21 and
8 AM - 5 PM on Sunday. At the end of the clinic, your instructor' s
certificate will be re-validated on site without your having to go to
a FSDO as in years past. The clinic is valid for renewal of multiple
types of instructor certificates -- glider, airplane and helicopter.
All pilots are welcome, the clinic is not only for instructors. The
information presented will be very useful to those working toward a
CFI certificate and pilots with private or commercial certificates.
The clinic will be held in Gainesville, Virginia. This site should be
convenient for those who live in the Washington, D.C. area. It is
about half an hour from Dulles airport for those who wish to travel by
air.
If you wish to attend the clinic, please respond to - James C.
Garrison, SSA Director, Regions 2 & 4 to register. Respond by email
to -- jcg8w at virginia dot edu
I will send more information as needed.
