crew drove it around the sky in big sweeping turns to check out our ship, then
continued on its way (most likely from India to Ethiopia or somewhere close).

Even more impressive are the STOL capabilities of the An-22. One
landed on a rather short runway close to where I live when it was
delivered to an aviation museum. The deep rumble of the
counter-rotating engines is fascinating.

It needed less than half of the 3.000 ft runway to come to a stop.
Requred landing run about 1.200 ft. Impressive.
