Even more impressive are the STOL capabilities of the An-22. One
landed on a rather short runway close to where I live when it was
delivered to an aviation museum. The deep rumble of the
counter-rotating engines is fascinating.
It needed less than half of the 3.000 ft runway to come to a stop.
Requred landing run about 1.200 ft. Impressive.
