Default MicroAir Display Went Blank

It was about 4 deg-F at 17,500 MSL in the wave yesterday when the display on
my MicroAir 760 radio went blank. *I confirmed that the radio still worked

airport weather report. *I couldn't tell if the transmitter still worked

I forgot to check after putting the ship away if the display had returned..
Is this normal behavior?

LCD displays are notoriously temperature-sensitive. Even industrial-
standard ones with extended operating temperature ranges can be
affected. Here in Arizona the problem is usually too much heat and
the displays go black. You might want to check the operator's manual
and see what the specified operating temperature range is, (4 F is -12
C, which could be on the low end).
