I made the bracket from aluminum with a curved portion to mate with
the underside of the glareshield, TIG welded to the bracket shelf. The
curved underside mount could be made of wood and the shelf screwed to

That bracket looks a little...uh... "undesirable" in the event of a
bail out. *My $0.02.

The bracket (and PowerFlarm) "goes away" with the canopy in the 26E,
so there is a break-away plug under the glareshield so the canopy
eject process won't be impeded should I decide not to try landing the
remaining glider bits.

The bracket is .050" aluminum, and even if used on a glider such as
the DG-800 series, where the pedestal stays put, would easily bend out
of the way. Is could, if need be, be mounted with frangible nylon
screws or 3-M mushroom style interlocking tape.
