Default USAF HARRIER….YES… USAF - "USAF HARRIER USAF MUSEUM.jpg" yEnc (1/4)

Great set, thanks!

Technically, this is an VZ-12 (later redesignated XV-6A) "Kestrel"
AF 64-18262 (ex RAF XS688), one of 9pre-Harrier development aircraft
procured from the RAF for trials.

In an alternate universe, these might have been operated by the US
Army as close support for the troops - the way the US Marines use the
Harrier today. Seems the USAF wasn't keen on the Army grunts operated
'real' airplanes, leaving them mostly helicopters and a few trash
haulers and observation types.
