It was incredible (after the fact) how many of us did not notice. I was in a crowd of 50 or so waiting for Concordia to go. I was filming the upcoming motor launch and when I took my eyes off the camera screen and focused on the glider directly. I new something was wrong but did not know what for a moment. A bit like looking at the "find the difference game" and trying to find the discrepancy. When i realized it was a cover on the tail and the glider adding power I could not believe it... very glad it was caught! Scary what might have happened if he began his role. PLEASE BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!

We had a similar issue years ago at our field, we decided to wait until the glider was at a "safe altitude" to let him know about the tail dolly.....since he was "flying" we decided to limit the distractions.....

Well, you can't wait when there is a cover on the horizontal. If Sean
hadn't noticed, the glider would have crashed. A very close call, since
the pilot was seconds away from advancing the throttle. Fortunately,
the pilot had good peripheral vision, so he saw Sean at the wingtip
waving his arms.
